Soprano Rebecca Hopkins of Richmond, Virginia, is a local musician in various church and classical venues. With a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, a Master’s of Music Education degree and a Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance, both from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida,, Rebecca is in her sixth season with the Richmond Choral Society with solos in Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, Bloch’s Avodath Hakodesh, and both Vivaldi and Poulenc settings of the Gloria. She is the pianist at the Bon Air Baptist Church where she directs the select a cappella vocal ensemble Exaltation. Besides teaching private voice locally, Rebecca also teaches classes for Christian Youth Theatre. Other experience includes opera roles, music theatre roles, and numerous recitals and church concerts. She is married to Kevin, and has three children, Stephanie, Stephen, and Melanie.
